In January of last year (2012), we launched the Fireworks Police. Without a single voice in the community, in a haste, we became one of the top Fireworks resource sites in the world. Soon after, we were rated by numerous source as the top 3 resource sites to have bookmarked for Fireworks. It has been a successful year, not just for us, but for the Fireworks community as a whole. But that does not mean we’re satisfied yet.
We started the Fireworks Police with a goal, to bring Fireworks to the lime-light. Though we have made a name for ourselves, our goal for the software is far from complete. There are millions of people who still do not know the benefits of our wonderful software and many companies who reject the software as useful for resources on their site. This is something we wish to change in 2013. To achieve this goal for the year, we are partnering up with numerous companies and people to bring you some wonderful projects, resources and features.
The Fireworks Police V3
September of last year we took a rather unique approach to a resource site. We implemented a blog style that we felt was more suited for our resources and made the website easier to navigate. It was successful in achieving this objective, however, it did not improve the loading of content on our website. This was a big problem for the team as want to get our resources out to you fast and have it ready when you need it. That is why we created this new version of our website. Welcome to the new and improved Fireworks Police version 3.0.
In this update, we took advantage of our old style and worked on improving the loading speed, readability and accessibility. We integrated old framework with the Haze framework to create a website that provided you with easy to read content, while providing authors with a simple interface for posting.
One of the main changes you will notice right away is the navigation. With this version, we worked on improving how we categorized the internal pages of our website. We moved all off our wonderful free resources under a freebies link that will drop-down to reveal our child-categories. Next we added a premium section that highlights the numerous contents we have for sale on the web (read below for details on premium content). Next we made it easier for you to locate our library of tutorials and added a new category for coding tutorials. This year, with the help of numerous Fireworks community members, we plan on bringing some wonderful written and video tutorials on how to use resources, extensions and going from Fireworks to HTML. Finally, we made it easier for you to get in contact with us, read the terms and conditions and find the privacy policy.
Another change you will notice is the subscription option on the internal pages. Last year number of you have requested this feature where you will be automatically notified by email of new posts on our website. The subscription option will be same through out on the internal pages of the site, therefore will be easy to find. This function will allow you to do exactly that. But instead of getting just a notification, you will receive the entire article via email.
