Client Deadlines

Do you set your own deadlines or do you let the client dictate them? Also, how often do you accept rush projects?

I've noticed a lot of quality with regards to design is sacrificed here in the Philippines because everything is rushed. A lot of studios and agencies compete here on who can do things the fastest and that really shows with a lot of their work. How is it in your country?
