My name is Christian Schaefer, German, born in 1976 and my nickname is caefer (c for Christian and aefer for Schaefer).
I am a member of the PHP community for far over 10 years by now starting with PHP 3 and for over 4 years now I’ve been using the symfony framework.
But it’s not only the programming side that I’m interested in. I am also interested in understanding the process of turning an idea into a product and the part of IT within it. The main responsibility of any IT department is to support the business strategy of their companies and to implement business requirements. It is my ambition to help optimising these processes by finding answers to the following challenges.
Saving time for innovation by making software reusable and creating repetitive processes Reducing the risk of complexity by setting sensible quality standards Finding synergies with the outside world by incorporating an Open Source strategy and following open standards Since 2005 I work with an international scope supporting development teams all over Europe. Currently I am working for a big publisher with sites all over the world.
