1. CyberGhost Secure VPN Hides your location and IP Address

CyberGhost Secure VPN

Yes, most VPN services offer this. However, CyberGhost goes one step further and will protect you from cyber attack with malware protection in place. Keeping your data safe is what CyberGhost services are for. With the company being based in Romania, they do not have the laws to follow regarding the internet. There are laws in the EU that allow for tracking.  However, with CyberGhost secure VPN there isn't any tracking. And, you can enjoy this on any device.  CyberGhost is safe, 30 million people are trusting it and you can too.

2. Military-style encryptions

There are no records kept on what you are doing.  And, everything is encrypted for your safety as well. There is a strict no-logs policy and they really don't care what you do on their servers.   They will not track you and will not work with federal agencies either. Because of the location of CyberGhost, they don't have to.

3. Offers High-Speed Browsing

CyberGhost Offers High-Speed Browsing

If you are on a network that is throttled all the time, you know the pain. Getting throttled means that your internet and browser cannot work as they should. This can not only be frustrating but it can also hurt your progress on a project. However, with CyberGhost there isn't any throttling. It is simply that easy. Choose the plan that works for you and enjoy all the power that you need.  They don't care what you are using their servers for.  Some servers, however, don't offer torrenting. But, most will.

4. Live Chat Support

Live Chat Support

Their live chat was extremely helpful. And, they are very well educated on technical and complex questions. This is important for any VPN service as many people that use VPNs are good at understanding how to use them. If they run into trouble, they probably have tried and tested a few things before resorting to tech support.

5. Windows Client

The Windows client is simple to use but it is packed with features as well. It is well laid out. You can choose your servers based on location, the amount of the current load and distance.  However, there are filters in place that will allow you to filter out which are perfect for torrents, your favorites and optimized for streaming. Other important things that can be done in the client are shutting off pop us, redirecting all HTTP to HTTPS and data compression, which will compress those images and save on bandwidth.

You can block trackers, ads and malicious looking websites, which are all standard features that can be turned on and off inside the client control panel. You have the ability to set it up so that when Windows starts, it starts. However, you can also have it open up your favorite browser in incognito mode for you. And, it will automatically open with your favorite torrent software. Of course, there is an "exceptions" option.

If this all sounds a bit complex, well, that is because that it is. However, if you don't want all these little features, you don't have to mess with them to get your VPN to work.

6. CyberGhost Chrome

CyberGhost Chrome

As the world is getting better and better at tracking our every move, CyberGhost is working hard to prevent that. This is true for CyberGhost Chrome extension as well. The CyberGhost chrome extension is available for free in the Google Playstore. This extension unlocks all the powers of the actual VPN and protects you from tracking.  It will hide your IP address and they can even work with Netflix and BBC iPlayer. They have figured out a way to get around the complex algorithms that these online streaming services block. This chrome extension offers:

  • Online tracking blocking
  • Anonymous browsing
  • WebRTC leak protection
  • Blocks Malicious content
  • Access to geo-restricted content

This extension is available in chrome but they also have a Firefox CyberGhost extension that does the same thing in firefox. It is simple to download and will connect to any wifi.  This is great for not only your computers but put it on your phone.  It allows you access to any blocked sites as well. So, if you have a workstation that blocks your social media and other online sites, getting this extension is something that will help you get around that, undetected.

If you have trouble getting onto your favorite sites at school or work due to admins blocking you, look no further. These admins think they know how to control what you see and do, however, CyberGhost allows you to get around those settings and view just about anything you'd like using their wifi.  This will be 100% undetected. And, there is no tracking ever done when you are using CyberGhost, so the admins cannot catch you either.

Think of it as a portal to another computer. Once you are onto the server, you have access to whatever you'd like to view or do online. Many times they block you for being in certain areas of the building as well. However, as long as you have wifi, it will work through their VPN.

7. CyberGhost Netflix

CyberGhost Netflix

And, enjoy all these features on up to 7 devices. Yes, that is more than most VPN services that typically allow 5. You can even use it to unblock Netflix.  Netflix is an amazing source of entertainment. However, if you don't live within the US, you are not getting access to their entire content. Many things are blocked out, depending on your IP location. But, with CyberGhost you can get a US IP and enjoy everything that Netflix has to offer. This has to do with copyright laws and well, people that want to govern what you can and can't do. And, it does all this without getting a proxy error. Take a look at CyberGhost Netflix and see what you are missing out on.

Clearly, we certainly do recommend CyberGhost for all the many reasons stated above.

8.The price of CyberGhost

We believe that the cost of CyberGhost for all that it has to offer is very reasonable. This starts out at $12.99 for just one, this is a great way to test it out and see what power it truly has, you don't have to take our word for it. And, once you realize the CyberGhost premium is right for you, you can save more money by purchasing their other packages. This makes it very affordable by the month, however, these packages are paid annually. So, that is a bit of change all at once, if you are short on cash.

And, some plans have unexpected "Up-sells", well except the upsell is free. You cannot get better than that. This is not shown until you are on the page and paying, so be sure to take note that you might see these things and all you have to do is accept them.

You can also try it out with a "free trial" however, there are only so many spots in the free trial that you can use on each server. So, if the server's free spots are full, you will get "Going to have to wait." window.   We will speak more about this later.  If you need more to try it out, you can use the IOS app or the Android app. This will give you a full 7 days to try it out. The app is different from the chrome extension. It allows access into the full premium CyberGhost and all that it has to offer.

9. Privacy Policy of CyberGhost

As we have spoken about before, CyberGhost is very strict on their no-log policy. They pride themselves on offering a safe, convenient way to browse without the worry of anyone knowing who you are. This is even further spelled out in their privacy policy and worded so that people that are not full-blown attorneys can understand. They go on to state that they do not know who is on what server at any time. And, they don't know what server accessed what on the internet.  And, furthermore on how they don't know the user's IP addresses.  To further discuss CyberGhost's stance on the no-log policy they have an entire page devoted to it.

Furthermore, they took everything one step further and put the company location in Romania which helps protect them from any other authority that wants this information. They do not have to work with federal investigations of any kind.

10. Torrenting with CyberGhost

Torrenting with CyberGhost

Torrents are something that most VPNs don't advertise about. But, CyberGhost is not like the others, they have a list in their dashboard that is labeled "for torrenting". Well, that makes things simple. And, you can even set it up so that your Torrenting software will automatically connect to your favorite torrenting servers, saving you time. As a bonus, they have a URL filter that will block any malicious URL by default. This could save you a lot of trouble and time down the road.

If you decide to not go by the list, you will be shut down by CyberGhost. These servers are made for torrenting and have the capability to handle this activity. However, there are some servers that just cannot handle this sort of bandwidth use or it is illegal. CyberGhost is really good at hiding your personal information but they also follow the laws of these various lands.  So, you will not find torrenting servers in the US, Singapore, Russia, Hong Kong or Australia.

3 Things that CyberGhost Could Improve on

1. Free trial is limited

The free trial is limited and it has limited features so it really is hard to see what it can and cannot do with it. You are limited to 24 hours, unless you use the app on your phone, in that case, you are limited to 7 days. With 7 days and if the trial was a full version you certainly should have the time to see if it is right for you. Nevertheless, they do offer a free trial and we are certainly grateful for that.

2. Setting up can be a pain for new users

Setting up your router to use the secure CyberGhost VPN is not as simple as you might think.  For any devices that you need OpenVPN files for, this is going to be a very long and complex process. Typically the VPN providers give you a list of .OVPN files to download.  However, that is not the case with CyberGhost.  Here, you will have to your account and add a device profile.  Then, you will need to choose what features you'd like and then choose OpenVPN TCP or UDP.   Next, you will choose your target country. From there you will need a piece of paper and pen to jot down the server name, custom user name, and password. However, a little work to pay for a super-secure server is completely worth it. Just be sure you set some time aside for this process.

3. CyberGhost website needs improvement

The website has a lot of very useful information. There are plenty of tutorials and other things.   However, many are outdated and have some pretty bad advice on them as well.  For example, they say that if you are having trouble with their VPN service the first thing you should do is uninstall and reinstall the client. However, if you are an avid VPN user, you know that is not typically the case.  And, sometimes the English isn't perfect, however, it is understandable.

Are they safe?

Yes, they are safe. In fact, if you don't believe us, take a look around on the internet itself. There are all kinds of reviews about it. They have been around since 2011, if it wasn't safe, they wouldn't still be in business. And, they are growing the number of servers they have every year.

Conclusion - Do We Recommend CyberGhost VPN?

Yes, we recommed!

Absolutely! CyberGhost VPN is one of the best, most secure VPNs today. Due to its military-grade encryption, you can safely browse the internet, with no fear of your data being misused. This is the biggest reason why we recommend CyberGhost to our users.

In addition, contrary to many other VPNs, CyberGhost does not cause lagging and buffering due to low internet speeds. In fact, this VPN ensures high speeds with little to no throttling, making it ideal for those who depend on a good internet connection.

On top of that, CyberGhost is highly affordable. The VPN offers various payment plans which are sure to fit the budget of any individual or business.
