FastWebHost Review 2023: Are They Good Web Host for India?

FastWebHost, in a way, is an accurate name.
It is indeed a fast web host, like all our recommended hosting services; not the fastest (in the range), though, but fast enough to recommend for its loading speed. The features are also excellent for the price. However, it’s not reliable, and the customer support is substandard, making it a below-mediocre web hosting for our liking.
We do not recommend it and suggest Hostinger for individuals and SMBs on a tight budget. The base plan of Hostinger costs the same as FastWebHost’s base plan, but the value Hostinger provides is multifold!

Company Information
Started in California in 2001, FastWebHost is a mid-sized company providing affordable web hosting solutions. Their India-based office was established in Hyderabad in 2008. Furthermore, they operate from a few other locations and own data centers across continents.
The latest info shows FastWebHost hosts over 200,000 domains. Now, we don’t know if all their users are satisfied or not, but when we looked through the internet, we found that many people have complaints to share. And as you’ll see further in this review, we understand the dissatisfaction.

2 things good about FastWebHost
1. It’s indeed a fast web host
FastWebHost has data centers in Phoenix & Lansing in the USA; New Delhi, India; Amsterdam; and the Netherlands.
Because they have servers in India, you can host your site on one of those servers and cut latency to the minimum if your primary audience is India-based. In other words, the server response time (or SRT) in India is bound to be excellent. Google recommends an SRT of under 200 ms, and our tests show ~90 ms SRT in India.
We also perform loading time tests for comprehensive reviews. For this test, we install WordPress on the test site, create a sample page, and run it through a loading speed testing tool. We found simple web pages hosted on FastWebHost load in nearly 700 ms, i.e., under the recommended 1 second.
In short, FastWebHost at least doesn’t defy its name.
2. Good features for the price
Keeping aside the below-average storage capacity on its base plan, FastWebHost covers quite a few features, including:
On the advanced plans, you also get a free domain name.
2 things bad about FastWebHost
1. Horrible Uptime
We have tested dozens of web hosting services — local, national, and international — and FastWebHost’s uptime is, simply put, amongst the poor ones we have seen.
If you don’t know, Uptime is the total time during which your site is available online. For example, If the site’s uptime is 99%, it means the site wasn’t available to the visitors for one hour every four days. Ideally, you want 100% uptime. However, practically speaking, we recommend anything above 99.95%. Most companies, like FastWebHost, offer a 99.9% uptime guarantee.
During our period of experimenting, we noticed quite a few outages with FastWebHost. In total, the uptime of our test site on FastWebHost was 99.53%, which is pretty bad. Compared to this, something like Hostinger(99.99%) or any top web host performs way, way better.
2. Poor technical support
Technical support is supposed to drive you through technical problems & offer appropriate solutions, not drive you nuts. Perhaps some people from the FastWebHost support team don’t know that.
Primarily, you can raise a support ticket or live chat with a support agent to solve any issues. When we contacted, the initial response was considerably fast; however, the support agent seemed flustered with moderately difficult issues and had to hop the call to seniors. Overall, it took way longer to get a proper solution.
This review by Brian entirely explains the two negatives of purchasing a FastWebHost plan.

Conclusion | Do we recommend FastWebHost?
Nope!
On the surface, FastWebHost seems to have everything figured out. As the name implies, it is “fast.” Plus, value-added features like free SSL, free CDN, free emails, free site builder, etc., are very attractive.
However, on further examination, we found their customer support and uptime to be substandard. If they could have skipped a couple of extra features and ensured solid support & uptime, we would have recommended it in a second.
How do we know that? Well, we recommend Hostinger — a similarly-priced web hosting with great support, uptime, and loading speed — without a hitch.
