After researching and testing almost all popular web hosts in the business, we compiled our top 5 recommendations list. But our job doesn’t stop there...we try to recommend the best for you. And so started our journey of finding less-known yet recommendable web hosts.
One of the names we came across on the path was Parallax Hosting — a provider that seemed promising on the surface. Did it turn out to be an underrated gem? Can it knock over the crown of Hostinger, a similar-pricing-range host that dominates the top-5 list? Well, this article is all about that.
Put simply, Parallax Hosting is no match to even some of our non-recommended hosts, let alone Hostinger - our favorite web host for the Indian audience. Yes, it’s affordable, but there’s more to web hosting than just low-cost; you will find all about it in this comprehensive review.

Started in 2013, Parallax Hosting is an India-based web hosting & domain registration company that was started with one vision: To build and provide a solid and reliable hosting infrastructure.
However, from what we have found, we don’t think the actions have matched the vision, at least not at the moment. Plus, the fact that they host only around 21k websites doesn’t show much growth of the company either — here’s our philosophy: If a company provides the best services, the growth will be exponential due to word of mouth!
Apart from the mentioned info, there’s not much written about the company. So we’ll start with the actual review.
4 things Parallax Hosting does right
Parallax Hosting is mediocre by all standards, in our opinion. In most aspects, it’s not comparable with the likes of Hostinger, Bluehost, etc. However, it gets a few things right.
1. Free SSL certificate
An SSL certificate converts your HTTP site to HTTPS. Essentially, it’s a security layer that encrypts the communication between the client (your site visitor’s browser) and the server (on which a site is hosted).
This keeps the visitor’s data safe from getting exposed to hackers & eavesdroppers. It’s especially crucial for e-commerce sites (and likes) that collect sensitive information like credit card details. Moreover, HTTPS is good for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
In short, you will get benefits associated with an SSL certificate for free if you go with Parallax Hosting. Remember, though: it’s not some unique feature Parallax offers; almost all hosting providers include a free SSL.
2. Free business email accounts
Similar to free SSL, free email accounts are also not unheard of in hosting packages. However, they sure are essential.
A business email account is the one with your domain name as the suffix. E.g., firstname.lastname@example.org. Such email ids are useful for multiple purposes, including gaining trust, branding, differentiating the purpose of the account (for instance, support@ email is for support related queries only), etc.
With Parallax Hosting’s free business email accounts, you will be able to create multiple such emails and reap the benefits that come with it.
3. Good server response time in India
Google recommends a server response time of under 200 ms, and Parallax Hosting achieves it...in India.
Server response time is the total time it takes for a browser to send a request to the server and get a response. We tested for server response time from a Bangalore server, and the test site returned a response in about 150 ms, which is excellent.
Sadly, the global average response time with the Parallax Hosting server was ~350 ms, which is less than the average (180 ms-220 ms) we got with top-tier hosts.
Overall, if your general audience is in India, it’s a plus for you.
4. One-click installers
Like many other web hosts, Parallax employs Softaculous to provide one-click installs. Softaculous, if you don’t know, is a script library that automates the installation of web applications to a website.
Using this feature, you will be able to install apps like WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc., with a
3 things Parallax Hosting can improve on
The four “positives” about Parallax Hosting are common throughout almost all web hosting services, whether good or bad. And except for server response time, none of them are top-tier priority elements to look for when selecting a hosting.
The most crucial factors for quality web hosting are the follows, and Parallax is mediocre in all aspects.
1. Pricing/Value for money
If you focus only on Parallax Hosting, you will find its pricing affordable. Zoom out a bit, and you’ll find other options that are better and in the same price range.
Let’s compare Parallax’s Starter plan with Hostinger’s Single Web Hosting, for instance. Both plans allow one website and come with a free SSL certificate, 10 GB disk space, and 100 GB bandwidth. The cost? Parallax one is Rs. 90/month, and Hostinger one is Rs. 79/month.
Despite offering the same specifications, Parallax costs 1.5x that of Hostinger. And we haven’t mentioned the comparatively better performance and support of Hostinger yet!
In short, the value for money factor is something most people care for the most, and Parallax is behind on it.
Granted, you can charge more. But the quality of service should also align with high pricing. E.g., Kinsta does it, and we highly recommend them.
Performance is the primary factor to choose a hosting on. This includes everything from server response time, loading speed, and real-time user-handling capacity to uptime. We already discussed server response time — let’s look at other factors:
In a nutshell, Parallax Hosting is below average on the performance front. This fact alone makes it a no-no for us.
3. Hit or miss customer support
Have a query, ran into a problem, deleted some files by mistake? Customer support is your friend (...or enemy!).
Parallax Hosting takes customer queries via phone call, chat, and support tickets. To test the support, we tried to chat with them...and it was hit or miss. The first time, we got connected in a couple of minutes. But the second time, we just closed the window due to the frustration of not getting a reply.
The quality of the support agent we connected with was average.
Here’s one of the only genuine-looking customer review we found on the Internet (they have basically zero social proof):
Overall, Parallax Hosting’s customer support isn’t something we’d associate with the word “reliable.”

7. Reseller plans
If you want to start your own web hosting business or handle multiple web development/design clients, Parallax Hosting also offers Windows, Linux, and cPanel/WHM reseller plans.
Because most resellers prefer cPanel/WHM plans, we’ll mention those only.
Essential (Rs. 599/mo)
10 cPanels, 50 GB disk space, 500 GB bandwidth
Economy (Rs. 999/mo)
20 cPanels, 100 GB disk space, 2000 GB bandwidth

40 cPanels, 150 GB disk space, 3000 GB bandwidth
Professional (Rs. 2999/mo)
60 cPanels, 200 GB disk space, 4000 GB bandwidth
Parallax control panel
Parallax uses three of the most popular control panels: DirectAdmin (for Linux web hosting), cPanel (for cPanel hosting), and Plesk Obsidian (for Windows web hosting).
All three serve one purpose for the general audience: Helping them manage their server/hosting with GUI. Using any, you can add/delete domains & subdomains, create & manage email accounts, manage your files and databases, access Softaculous, check server usage, and do much more.
As they are widely popular, it’s safe to say UX is decent — anyone, whether a beginner or a tech-expert, can use it.
Conclusion - Do we recommend Parallax Hosting?
No, we don't!
In our opinion, Parallax Hosting is an average web host.
It’s affordable but not value for money if compared with many others in the business.
Our preferred web host in the price range, Hostinger, costs (₹79*)50% less than Parallax and still performs better at almost all aspects. You can read our Hostinger review here, but we’d suggest just click this link and purchase it without a second thought. Peace out
