NextraOne Review: Do We Recommend Them in 2023?

  • No auto-backups
  • Less Value for Money
  • Base Plan doesn't include MySQL database

Visit Hostinger Hosting, Officially recommended by Wordpress and Forrst.me

We will be making an exception with this one.

Generally, our hosting reviews are based on the cheapest plan of the being-reviewed web host; and we install WordPress for testing.

However, Nextraone’s starter plan that costs Rs. 31/month doesn’t include MySQL database; in other words, we can’t create a WordPress site for testing on that plan. Therefore, we’ll be basing this review on the second-cheapest plan, Basic — which costs Rs. 69/month. This will also make the comparison fair if you looked into Hostinger (starting at Rs. 79/month) or likes that cost in the same “super-affordable” range.

Other than that, this comprehensive Nextraone review is all about speed, security, reliability, customer support, and features — you know, the usual stuff.

Company Information

Nextra (short for ‘Next Era’) is a Delhi-based enterprise known for its PAN India broadband services. Nextraone is the data center & web hosting arm of the Nextra Group meant to serve reliable hosting solutions (primarily VPS-cloud & dedicated servers) to small & mid-sized businesses.

Wipro, a top Indian tech MNC, developed & designed Nextra’s data center(s), which sits strong across a 25,000 sq. ft. area. So, it obviously has some quality tech (hardware & software) powering the offerings. But is it enough, or will our favorites in the range like Hostinger & MilesWeb take the cake? Let’s find out.

Nextraone overview

3 things good about Nextraone

1. Data center(s) in India

It’s simple math: The internet works by transmitting data from one device (your server) to other devices (client’s browser) through a medium of transmission (mostly cables). The nearer the distance between both devices, the faster the data delivery.

Nextraone owns data centers in India, and your site will be hosted on an India-based server if you choose to sign up with them. Meaning, the server will respond quickly to the people in India. And if that’s what you want, well, that’s a significant advantage of Nextraone.

things good about Nextraone

Statistically, it took nearly 40 ms SRT when a site hosted on Nextraone was pinged from Bangalore. That’s fantastic because even Google considers anything under 200 ms ideal.

2. Good loading speed

Thanks to servers in India, but more importantly, quality SSD storage, the latest PHP version & best-in-class technologies, our test site loaded quickly.

As mentioned earlier, we use WordPress for testing. For load time tests, we have a mostly-text web page to keep the comparisons on equal ground. The Nextraone-hosted post took about 730 ms to load fully, which is great knowing that the recommended limit is one second. However, so that you know, it isn’t the best in the range. Hostinger took only about 500 ms!!

3. 24/7 technical support

If you are choosing one of these value hosting options, you are likely a beginner with less technical know-how. Don’t worry; Nextraone’s technical support will take care of that weakness.

Nextraone provides 24/7 assistance via phone calls, emails, and live chat. In our experience, their live chat agent connected in a minute, was polite, and gave proper answers. Their support ticket isn’t fast or much help, though.

So, we advise you to communicate with their live chat agent for a great experience and quick problem-solving.

3 things that can be improved

1. Uptime

Uptime is a crucial performance metric to look at when choosing web hosting. If your site isn’t live when a potential customer/client tries to view it, you lose revenue.

Nextraone promises 99.9% uptime, but in our test, it stood at 99.88%. We recommend at least 99.95%, so we won’t recommend it to you if your site is a significant part of your business strategy.

2. Value-added features & CMS support

Nextraone offers only two emails, a free SSL certificate, and one subdomain on their Basic plan. Compared to which, the competitors give more emails, automated backups, multiple subdomains, etc.-like features.

Similarly, as mentioned earlier, Nextraone’s Starter plan is of no use if you plan to install a CMS like WordPress. Even the basic plan does not support any other CMS than WordPress. Providers like Hostinger support WordPress, Joomla, and more at the same time.

3. Pricing can be better

With comparatively better loading speed, uptime, features, data centers across the globe, and CMS support, web hosts like Hostinger are already ahead of Nextraone. On top of that, Nextraone’s packages cost more for less value given.

Yes, it’s value for money, but our favorite Hostinger is a steal deal comparatively.

Conclusion | Do we recommend Nextraone?

Not quite

Nextraone is a decent web hosting solutions provider. With web servers in India, the latest hardware & software tech, and responsive customer support, it makes a good deal for businesses targeting the Indian audience.

However, if looked at broadly, arguably the best affordable web host, Hostinger, offers more for less money.

  • Hostinger’s uptime is better. 99.99% vs. 99.88%.
  • Hostinger’s loading speed is faster. 500 ms vs 700 ms.
  • Hostinger gives a couple of extra features. E.g., Free backups, multiple subdomains, etc.
  • And it costs Rs. 79/month compared to Nextraone’s Rs. 69/month.
  • Uptime 99.99%
  • Average response time - 180 ms
  • Free Site transfer
  • 24/7 live chat
